Today 36 Leaders of People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) who are battling charge of terrorism appeared before the International Crimes Division(ICD) of the High Court and were granted bail following their  abduction from a conference in Kisumu Kenya in July  and subsequently remanded to Kitalya and Luzira Prisons.

 

 

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago also lead counsel for the applicants submitted several reasons for grant of bail amongst which was the presumption of innocence which he highlighted as being a cornerstone of the criminal justice system.

 

 

The 36 applicants who presented sureties ranging from Members of Parliament, Political Comrades, Family Members and Leaders of PFF were granted bail on a cash bond of Ug Shs. 2M each and Sh.50M non cash for sureties by Hon. Lady Justice Susan Okalany.

 

 

"BAIL GRANTED
Court has granted cash bail of 2M to each of the 36 Kisumu prisoners.
We need 72M to have our colleagues out party cries out"
