Why This New Donation Matters

  • Boosting Local Culture & Economy: The Kampala City Festival is one of Uganda’s key cultural and economic events. Kiggundu’s donation will help expand the event’s reach in tourism, support local artists and businesses, and foster city pride.
  •
  • Urban Development & Clean Environment: Beyond entertainment, the festival’s success can influence city cleanliness, environmental awareness, and infrastructure improvements, in which Kiggundu has shown interest before (e.g. tree planting).

Dr. Hamis Kiggundu remains one of Uganda’s most visible philanthropists. With the UGX 200 million boost for the Kampala City Festival, he continues to leverage his success to support national culture, tourism, and urban improvement.
