The State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. J.C. Muyingo, has called upon communities to remain vigilant in the fight against Ebola by observing all health guidelines and avoiding practices that may contribute to the spread of the disease. He emphasized the importance of protecting school-going children and families through proper hygiene and responsible community behavior.

The Minister’s message was delivered by his Political Assistant, Wasswa Abdulkarim Tamale, who represented him at the burial of the late Kakooza Godfrey in Kikyusa.

While addressing mourners, Tamale conveyed Dr. Muyingo’s condolences to the bereaved family and praised the legacy of the late Daniel Musirikale, the father of the late Kakooza Godfrey, Mr. Sserugo James, and Pastor Kakooza. He commended the late Musirikale for raising children who became responsible members of society and contributed positively to their communities.

Dr. Muyingo urged parents and guardians to continue prioritizing education by sending their children back to school and supporting them in their studies. He noted that education remains a key pillar for personal development and national progress.

On matters of development, the Minister reassured residents of Kikyusa that the government’s electricity extension programme is ongoing and that areas earmarked for connection will eventually receive power.

He encouraged residents to prepare and position themselves to take advantage of the opportunities that come with access to electricity, including improved livelihoods and business growth.

The Minister further called upon families to emulate the good values demonstrated by the late Daniel Musirikale through raising disciplined, hardworking, and responsible children. He noted that strong families play a vital role in building healthy and prosperous communities.

He concluded by urging the public to remain united in the fight against Ebola, support children’s education, and embrace government development programmes aimed at improving the welfare of all Ugandans.
