Ministry of Education and Sports and Kibuli Muslim Hospital Health Training Schools have celebrated a major milestone following the successful graduation of 468 students during the institution’s 9th Graduation Ceremony held at Kibuli on May 7, 2026.

The ceremony was officiated by Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, who conveyed warm greetings from the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports. In his address, Dr. Muyingo commended the institution for its contribution toward strengthening Uganda’s healthcare workforce through quality education and practical training.

He encouraged the graduands to uphold professionalism, integrity, compassion, and excellence as they begin their careers in the health sector.

“You are joining the health sector at a time when the demand for quality healthcare services is high. Be ambassadors of quality healthcare and lifelong learning,” Dr. Muyingo said.

The Minister praised the leadership of Prince Dr. Kassim Nakibinge, the Board, management, and staff for maintaining high standards in healthcare education and service delivery.

Dr. Muyingo also commended the hospital’s healthcare services, including medical, maternity, neonatal, pediatric, intensive care, and dialysis services, noting that the facilities provide students with valuable practical exposure needed in today’s healthcare environment.

He further appreciated the role played by private and faith-based institutions in complementing government efforts in training health professionals and improving healthcare service delivery across the country.

The Minister also applauded Dr. Elgazer Mahamoud for his dedicated leadership and contribution to the growth of the institution over the years.

Speaking during the ceremony, Hajat Nanziri Harimah Mayanja highlighted the institution’s commitment to quality training, discipline, professionalism, and practical skills development.

She noted that the school focuses on equipping students with the essential competencies and values required of healthcare workers, which has enabled Kibuli Muslim Hospital Health Training Schools to emerge among Uganda’s top-performing health training institutions.

“Our focus is to produce competent, disciplined, and compassionate health workers ready to serve communities professionally,” Hajat Nanziri Harimah Mayanja said.

The colorful ceremony attracted religious leaders, government officials, medical professionals, parents, guardians, and invited guests from different parts of the country.

Parents and guardians were recognized for the sacrifices, support, and encouragement they provided throughout the students’ educational journey.

Speaking after the ceremony, some graduands expressed gratitude to the institution for equipping them with practical knowledge and professional skills needed in the healthcare field.

“As students, we have received quality training, discipline, and practical exposure that has prepared us to serve our communities professionally,” one of the graduands said.

A parent, Hajjat Mariam Nakato, praised both the institution and government for supporting the students’ academic journey.

“We are grateful to Kibuli Muslim Hospital Health Training Schools and the Ministry of Education and Sports for guiding our children into responsible healthcare professionals ready to serve the nation,” she said.

The ceremony concluded with celebrations and renewed commitment by both Government and Kibuli Muslim Hospital leadership to continue investing in health education and human capital development in Uganda.
