In a vibrant and inspiring ceremony held at Seeta Junior School Mbalala Campus, Seeta Schools and Juniors marked their 25th anniversary  celebrations of a remarkable journey in educational excellence. The landmark event was graced by distinguished guests, educators, alumni, and faith leaders, including The Rt. Rev. Christopher Kakooza, Bishop of Lugazi Diocese, who officiated at the commissioning of Seeta University a visionary new institution under the Seeta brand.

 


While,Delivering his sermon Bishop Kakooza challenged students to uphold discipline and dedication in school, at home, and in their future workplaces. He described discipline as a moral and organizational foundation for success.

“Discipline is a code of conduct on how we behave. It brings efficiency and involves organization,” the Bishop said.

“Dedication means hard work and with hard work, one will always find food. Students must commit themselves to their studies. Life is not easy, but through zeal, perseverance, and devotion coupled with faith in God they can succeed.”

 


He called on learners to surrender to God, be faithful, and realize that someone greater is responsible for their lives and destinies.

The founder and proprietor of Seeta High Schools, Seeta Junior Schools, and now Seeta University, Hon. Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, who also serves as Uganda’s Minister of State for Higher Education, paid special tribute to his wife, Maama Rose Muyingo Namayanja, for her unwavering support throughout the institution’s journey.

 

Dr. Muyingo also recognized Mr. Kafumbe Davis, the school directors, teachers, and administrators for their tireless work over the past 25 years. He commended the commitment of parents and students past and present for shaping the values and success of Seeta Schools.

“This University is a vital step in building a generation of creative, skilled, and technology-driven learners. It is here to nurture innovators who will drive Uganda’s future through technology, practical skills, and a problem-solving mindset,” Dr. Muyingo said.

 

He further thanked the NRM Government for supporting the education sector, stating that the achievements of Seeta Schools and the establishment of Seeta University are a direct result of government-led efforts to transform education. He called upon Ugandans to continue putting trust and faith in public initiatives, especially in education.

 


Seeta University, officially commissioned during the ceremony, will open its academic doors on August 4, 2025. The institution aims to be a beacon of practical education, boasting state-of-the-art facilities including A Digital Library,A Moot Court for law students,High-quality student hostels,A hands-on curriculum based on S.E.E.T.A—Science, Environment, Engineering, Technology, and Agriculture.


This framework is designed to foster local and global relevance through strategic partnerships and practical learning approaches.


Joanita Nagawa, one of the university directors, thanked all stakeholders who have supported Seeta Schools over the years. She called on the public to embrace Seeta University, which she described as “a University of Difference” built on a strong legacy of discipline and academic excellence.

 


Similarly, Mr. Ssebukalu Bonifance, Headteacher of Seeta High School Mbalala Campus, highlighted the immense contribution the schools have made to Uganda’s development.


“Over the last 25 years, Seeta Schools have played a critical role in promoting education and providing employment opportunities to thousands of Ugandans,” he said.


The 25-year anniversary of Seeta Schools is not just a celebration of the past, but a launchpad into the future. With the commissioning of Seeta University, a new chapter of academic innovation, spiritual grounding, and national service has begun. As students prepare to walk through the university gates this August, the dream of nurturing a generation of God-fearing, skilled, and responsible citizens is no longer just a vision it is unfolding in real time.
