Luweero District – There is renewed excitement and optimism across Bamunanika Constituency following the official nomination of Dr. Kiyini by the Electoral Commission to contest as Member of Parliament on the NRM ticket. The nomination took place at Luweero District Headquarters, marking a new chapter for the ruling party in an area that has shown growing confidence in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) leadership.

The event attracted hundreds of supporters who turned up to cheer on their new flag bearer. Leading the team was Hon. Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, Minister of State for Higher Education and former Bamunanika MP, who accompanied Dr. Kiyini throughout the nomination process and later traversed parts of the constituency mobilizing support for him.
Hon. Muyingo described Dr. Kiyini as “a man of God, a great leader, humble and hardworking.” He emphasized that the people of Bamunanika now have a trustworthy leader who understands their needs and shares the NRM vision of transformation through service delivery, unity, and development.

“This time around, NRM has higher chances of reclaiming Bamunanika. The incumbent has not met people’s expectations, but I have observed Dr. Kiyini—he listens, he serves, and he cares. Let’s give him our total support,” Muyingo stated to cheering crowds.
Many residents expressed renewed confidence in the NRM team, admitting that past mistakes will not be repeated. One elderly woman in Kikyusa Parish said, “We have suffered enough with opposition leaders who only visit during campaigns. This time we are going back home—to NRM and to President Museveni who always remembers us.”

After his nomination, Dr. Kiyini pledged to prioritize service delivery and inclusive leadership, focusing on:
- Women Empowerment: Supporting women through SACCOs and business programs.
- Youth Empowerment: Expanding access to skills training and job creation opportunities.
- Education: Improving school infrastructure and promoting quality learning.
- Unity in Diversity: Serving everyone regardless of political affiliation or background.
