KAMPALA — In a significant administrative reshuffle, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hon. Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala as the new Inspector General of Government (IGG). Justice Batala replaces Hon. Beti Olive Namisango Kamya, who has served in the position since 2021.

The appointment, made under the President’s constitutional mandate, marks a new chapter in Uganda’s fight against corruption and promotion of integrity in public service. Justice Batala, a respected member of the judiciary, brings with her a wealth of experience in law and public administration.

In the same communication, President Museveni retained the two Deputy Inspectors General of Government — Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe — ensuring continuity and stability within the leadership of the Inspectorate.

According to the statement, the names of the appointees have been forwarded to Parliament for vetting and subsequent approval.

This appointment reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening accountability institutions and upholding transparency in public affairs.

Congratulations have since poured in for Justice Batala and the deputies as they prepare to take on the mantle of ensuring ethical governance and service delivery in Uganda.
