The Police have arrested four teachers for unauthorised possession and online dissemination fake PLE examination papers. The suspects include Bakashaba Vincent, a teacher of Kimongole  Primary School, Isingiro,  Muheki Vincent, a teacher at Vision Primary School in Ibanda, Pabeku Albert, a teacher at Stoneridge Primary School in Kira, and Oyet Hosea, of Dignatory  Junior School in Rukungiri. 

 

 

 

The four were found sharing fake PLE papers on different social media platforms, where they would extort money to the tune of 750,000/= per set of the purported four PLE papers. The accused are still in police custody and are expected to appear in court for plea taking on Tuesday November 5th, 2024. 

 

 

 

Section 25 of the UNEB Act, CAP 259, provides that any person who gains or attempts to gain possession of any examination paper, or any part of an examination paper, examination material, or any other material or information which purports to relate to the contents of an examination paper, commits an offence and is liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding one thousand currency points (Twenty Million Shillings) or a term of imprisonment not exceeding five years or both. 

 

 

The examination paper, material and information includes an electronic version as well as transmission of the same. 

The candidates are set to write their PLE papers starting on Wednesday November 6th, 2024.
