The National Resistance Movement’s grassroots mobilisation drive in Greater Luweero continued with heightened energy as a strong NRM team stormed Bamunanika County, covering 15 villages in a single day under the leadership of Hon. Dr. JC Muyingo, who has been actively camping in the region.
First Venue: Kibirizi Parish Mobilisation Meeting

The day’s work began in Kibirizi Parish, where a well-attended grassroots mobilisation meeting concluded successfully.
Seven villages pledged strengthened support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and NRM flag bearers at various levels.
The meeting, held at Nkokonjeru Primary School, was chaired by the Parish Chairperson and attended by senior leaders from the NRM Secretariat, led by Hon. Dr. JC Muyingo.
He was joined by NRM District Executive Committee leaders and the Bamunanika Subcounty NRM Chairperson.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together in the spirit of unity, following the guidance of the NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja.

Second Venue: Mityebiri SDA School—Mpologoma Parish
After Kibirizi, the mobilisation team proceeded to Mpologoma Parish at Mityebiri SDA Primary School.
This meeting brought together NRM DEC members, the ONC Regional Coordinator for Luweero Sub-Region Wasswa Abdulkarim Tamale, the Patriotism Coordinator Migadde Richard, and other district leaders.
Village leaders appreciated the renewed direct engagement and pledged to strengthen local structures and support upcoming mobilisation activities across the county.
Background: Ongoing Regional Mobilisation
These activities follow several days of continuous meetings across the Greater Luweero region, where NRM teams have been visiting parish and village structures in districts including Nakaseke, Luweero, and Nakasongola.
The mobilisation strategy is rooted in the tested village-to-village approach long championed by President Museveni.
Youth Re-Engagement
The mobilisation in Bamunanika also saw several young people who had previously supported opposition groups expressing renewed willingness to re-engage with NRM.
They acknowledged past political missteps and shared interest in participating more constructively in community development and local leadership structures.
Looking Ahead
Mobilisation efforts will continue across the remaining villages in Bamunanika County as the NRM aims to deepen its grassroots presence, strengthen local leadership, and align communities with ongoing development programs.
