RELEASE OF THE NATIONAL EXAMINATION TIMETABLEThe Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) on Monday 30th September released the final timetable for the 2024 national examinations, marking the introduction of the first cohort of candidates for the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC).

The time table indicates examinations will kick off on Friday 11th October 2024, Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Examinations (UCE) - that are in two categories of the old Syllabus and the new syllabus and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).We believes schools and teachers have prepared the students and pupils well enough to successfully sit these examinations.

We would also like to encourage both students and pupils to study hard, make a reflection to understand fully what has been taught throughout the years.UPC also calls upon students and schools to desist from any form of examination malpractices, and are encouraged to report anyone attempting to sell them “leaked examination papers”.

This will help in promoting credibility of our schools and the education sector at large.UPC wishes all candidates success in their forthcoming examinations. International Teachers’ DayOn Saturday 5th October the world globally will celebrate world teacher’s day. The celebrations will be themed “Valuing teacher’s Voices towards a new social contract for education”. As a Party whose aim is to fight ignorance in the country, we acknowledge the contribution and importance of teachers in the growth and development of our country.

UPC therefore calls upon government, to improve the lives of the teachers through better equal pay, improved infrastructure in terms of the schools and access roads, better working conditions and these are the bare minimum that government should provide in demonstration of their good will to promote the growth and development of both the education sector and the country’s Human resource.
