A former Gibeon Security Systems guard, Marvin Webisa, has been committed to the High Court for trial over the alleged murder of former Kyanja-based TikToker, Diana Namulinde.

Webisa was committed on Wednesday by Nicholas Aisu at the City Hall Magistrates Court in Kampala after the court found that police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions had completed investigations into the case.

The accused is expected to face trial before the High Court on charges of murder, rape and aggravated robbery. The offences are capital in nature and fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

During the committal proceedings, the prosecution presented an indictment summarising the evidence it intends to rely on during the trial and asked the court to commit Webisa to the High Court for hearing.

With the committal completed, the case will now be forwarded to the High Court, where a judge will fix a date for the trial. Webisa will remain in custody pending further court proceedings.
