Kampala — In a heartfelt gesture, Speaker of Parliament Anita Among praised the Church’s pivotal role in fostering unity, peace, and love across the nation. Her remarks came during the 25th Priestly Jubilee celebration of Rev. Fr. Edward Muwanga at St. Charles Lwanga Parish in Ntinda, where hundreds of faithful gathered to honour his 25 years of priestly service—alongside fellow jubilarians Fr. Joseph Kirumira and Fr. Kizito Kiyimba.

Addressing the congregation, Speaker Among lauded the Church’s unwavering commitment to bringing communities together and providing vital moral and spiritual guidance to Ugandans. She noted how religious institutions have remained beacons of hope, reinforcing social cohesion and inspiring a culture of compassion.

Moreover, Speaker Among extended her commendation to the Government, under the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for steadfastly upholding freedom of worship. She emphasized that this protection of religious liberties has played a crucial role in uniting Ugandans across different faiths, thereby fortifying the country’s foundation of peace and tolerance.
