Under the theme “Amplifying Youth Voices for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity,” the Afro-Arab Youth Council Congress 2025 has become a defining platform for young leaders from Africa and the Arab world to share ideas, confront shared challenges, and shape a united vision for the future.

Uganda’s delegation — one of the largest with over 800 youth participants — stood out for its energy, vision, and commitment to driving continental transformation.

Rt. Hon. Rukia Isanga Nakadama, the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Guest of Honor representing the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, called on young people to uphold shared values of unity, collaboration, and visionary leadership, reminding them that “their actions today will define their contribution to history.”

Hon. Betty Amongi highlighted the need to address poverty as the root cause of instability, saying:

“If you are to deal with the issues of the youths, you must first deal with the issue of poverty which is the root cause of instability.”

Minister Balaam Barugahara emphasized that with 1.8 billion young people globally — and over 70% of Africa’s population under 30 — the youth remain the driving force for Africa’s growth and transformation.

Secretary General Agaba Abbas thanked the President for his unwavering support, a message he requested Rt. Hon. Nakadama to personally convey on behalf of the Council.

From Kampala to Cairo, the message is clear — Uganda continues to stand tall as a voice of peace, unity, and youth empowerment across Africa and the Arab world.
