The Afro-Arab Youth Congress 2025 is officially underway in Munyonyo, Kampala, bringing together hundreds of young leaders, innovators, and policymakers from across Africa and the Arab world to discuss peace, development, and youth empowerment.

The four-day congress, which began yesterday, October 7th, is the first of its kind, hosted by Uganda under the leadership of His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and organized by the Afro-Arab Youth Council.

During the official opening, the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, hailed the event as a historic platform for collaboration and cultural exchange. She emphasized that the youth of Africa and the Arab world hold the key to shaping a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive future.

“Today’s youth are the cornerstone of our shared future,” Hon. Babalanda said. “Their creativity, energy, and vision are essential for building resilient societies and fostering prosperity across nations.”

She encouraged participants to make the most of the opportunity to build partnerships, exchange ideas, and return home as ambassadors of unity and change.

“May this congress ignite bold action, meaningful partnerships, and a renewed spirit of solidarity between Africa and the Arab world,” she added.

Uganda’s hosting of the congress underscores its commitment to youth empowerment and international cooperation, as well as its reputation as a hub of peace and hospitality.

The Afro-Arab Youth Congress 2025 runs until October 10th under the theme “Amplifying Youth Voices for Peace, Unity, and Prosperity.”
