Bamunanika, Uganda – As the new academic year begins, Bamunanika Technical Institute has announced a major opportunity for prospective students: Half Bursaries for all new entrants, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The initiative is designed to expand access to hands-on technical education and empower young people with practical, income-generating skills that directly serve communities and national development.

The Principal, Mr. Muwambo John Ronald, emphasized that the bursary program reflects the institute’s commitment to making technical education affordable and accessible.

“Technical and vocational courses are not for failures, as some people wrongly believe,” Mr. Muwambo stated. “These courses are for the wise — the builders of our nation. The people who repair our water systems at home, construct the houses we sleep in, repair the vehicles we travel in — these are highly skilled professionals trained in technical institutions.”

He further noted that in a rapidly developing economy, hands-on skills are not only relevant but essential. Skilled technicians, mechanics, builders, and artisans remain in high demand locally and internationally.

Bamunanika Technical Institute stands out for its strategic location in a serene and remote area that enables students to concentrate fully on their studies and practical training without unnecessary distractions. The institution is equipped with first-class practical equipment, ensuring that students gain real-world, industry-relevant experience before graduation.

Founded on strong Catholic values while welcoming students from all religious backgrounds, the institute promotes discipline, integrity, and moral responsibility alongside technical excellence. As a government-funded and affiliated institution, it benefits from structured oversight, enhanced educational standards, and reliable institutional support — ensuring quality training and recognized certification.

The campus is spacious, offering ample room for both learning and practical work, and is supported by strong security systems that guarantee student safety.

The Deputy Principal in charge of Academics, Mr. Robert Okello, reinforced the importance of vocational training in today’s economy.

“Technical education builds competence, independence, and entrepreneurship. Our graduates do not wait for jobs — they create them. These skills are practical, marketable, and sustainable,” he explained.

He added that the half bursary initiative aims to encourage more students and parents to reconsider outdated misconceptions about vocational pathways. “Technical training is not a second option. It is a smart choice for those who want tangible skills, financial stability, and long-term career growth.”

The Half Bursaries are available for all new entrants, but allocation is strictly first come, first served. With the academic year now open, the institute calls upon interested candidates to apply early before the bursary slots are fully taken.
