 The Head @AntiGraft_SH, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, joined other senior officials who had been invited by the NRM Youth Cadre Association to deliver a keynote speech to the youth and witness the launch of their SACCO. This event took place at the Makerere University Auditorium, with the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. @BalaamAteenyiDr, as the Chief Guest.

 

 

The Minister congratulated the youth cadres on this significant achievement and encouraged young people to think creatively and identify opportunities for growth within the SACCO. He urged them to actively engage in government programs such as the PDM and Emyooga, emphasizing that participation in these initiatives would enhance their welfare within the community. 

 


He reminded the youth to start small and work steadily towards larger goals, highlighting that building wealth is a journey that requires patience and perseverance.

Hon. Barugahara reminded the youth to respect the laws governing the country and to avoid actions that could tarnish the name of the @NRMOnline.

 

 

Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke expressed gratitude to Mr Ahumuza Penkson Chairman of the Association and his executive committee for mobilizing and rallying the youth behind such initiatives. 

 

 He emphasized the importance of synergy and the need for transparency and accountability, when handling SACCO affairs.  He pledged the unit's collaboration with the youth association  and wished the SACCO success in its mission.

Brig. Gen. Muhumuza, Deputy Coordinator of OWC,  urged the youth to remain organized for future success. He emphasized that good governance and sustainable investment are essential pillars of a successful SACCO.

 

 

 

Canon Benson Turamye, Executive Director, @PPDAUganda, highlighted the government's support for youth, noting that the 2021 amendment to the PPDA Act requires all government entities to allocate 15% of their procurement budgets to youth initiatives.

 

 

The event was also attended by Prof.Peter Baguma, Chairman NRM Makerere University, Prof. Edward Bantu of Kabale University, SSP Donald Mutatina-KMP and Nelson Mutatina of Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority.
