Busujju County Member of Parliament, Hon. David Lukyamuzi Kalwanga, has been elected as a Representative to the Pan-African Parliament, marking a major milestone in his political journey and a proud moment for the National Unity Platform (NUP).

The announcement has been welcomed by supporters across Uganda, especially in Busujju County, where Hon. Kalwanga has built a reputation as a vocal advocate for good governance, youth empowerment, accountability, and democratic leadership.
The Pan-African Parliament, which serves as the legislative arm of the African Union, brings together representatives from member states to discuss continental policies, governance, development, peace, and regional cooperation. Hon. Kalwanga’s election therefore places Uganda among the voices contributing directly to Africa’s democratic and socio-economic future.
Speaking after the development, supporters and party members congratulated him for what many described as “a victory for the people and the democratic struggle.”
Hon. Kalwanga has remained one of the active leaders within the National Unity Platform, consistently championing citizens’ rights and national unity. His new role is expected to strengthen Uganda’s representation on the continental stage while also amplifying issues affecting ordinary Ugandans.
Political observers note that his rise to the Pan-African Parliament reflects growing recognition of young and reform-minded leaders within regional politics.
In his message of appreciation, Hon. Kalwanga thanked the National Unity Platform leadership, party members, supporters, and the people of Busujju County for the trust and support that have shaped his leadership journey.
“This achievement belongs to the people and to the struggle for a better Uganda and a stronger Africa,” one supporter remarked following the announcement.
As congratulatory messages continue to pour in, many supporters believe Hon. David Lukyamuzi Kalwanga’s new continental role will further strengthen his voice in advocating for democracy, unity, and development both in Uganda and across Africa.
