Seattle, USA – Ugandan Gospel artist and President of the Gospel Musicians Association, Lanek Denis, has expressed his excitement after his hit single “Bakole Error” climbed to Number 2 on Uganda’s gospel music charts.
Speaking early this morning from Seattle, Washington, Lanek Denis said the milestone was a humbling experience, acknowledging the challenges artists face in maintaining consistency at the top of the charts.
“It’s not easy being up there—it takes a lot of plays. And to stay up there requires consistency,” he said. “I am so excited and grateful to everyone supporting this journey.”

Lanek extended special appreciation to Cherissa REST TV, Hope Keys, Ritah T, Sam Special (Family TV), Brian Muwonge, Smark DJ, Joab Pro, DJ Giovanni, and God ye Buddy for helping push his music onto Uganda’s airwaves.
He also recalled the struggles faced along the way, noting how some individuals attempted to block his music from receiving airplay.
“When MC Mats (KTV) removed my music from their platform and tried to stop others from playing it, it was discouraging. But I have realized that even without those who fight you, you can still rise,” Lanek Denis

He attributed the success of “Bakole Error” to collaboration and unity within the Gospel fraternity, encouraging artists to work together to grow their craft.
“When we all come together to build a brand, believe me it’s possible. Staying up there isn’t easy, but we are going to try! Thank you to everyone that’s pushing Bakole Error. Mwebale nyo!”
President Lanek Denis, who also heads the Gospel Musicians Association of Uganda, continues to play a central role in advocating for Gospel artists’ visibility on major media platforms. His success story underscores the resilience and determination needed to thrive in Uganda’s competitive music industry.
