Believe in Your Subject Choices: Fr Masaba Encourages Seeta High School Green Campus S.6 Candidates to Trust God and Pursue Their Future with Confidence

As Uganda continues to encourage learners to embrace science education and pursue careers in fields that drive national development, Senior Six candidates have been urged to remain confident in their academic choices, recognise their individual abilities and trust God as they prepare for their final examinations.

The message was delivered by Rev. Fr John of God Masaba of Lugazi Diocese during a special prayer and dedication ceremony for 395 Senior Six candidates at Seeta High School Green Campus in Mukono, ahead of the commencement of their final examinations later this month.

Fr Masaba encouraged the candidates not to feel inferior or discouraged because of the subjects and career paths they have chosen, emphasising that every learner has unique abilities and a purpose to fulfil.

He reminded them that success is not determined solely by the subjects one studies or the career one pursues, but also by God’s will and purpose for each individual, personal commitment and the willingness to develop one’s talents.

According to Fr Masaba, God gives everyone opportunities according to their individual calling, adding that Uganda and the world at large need people with different skills, talents and professional expertise to contribute to development.

He therefore challenged the candidates to believe in themselves, appreciate their academic choices and approach their examinations with confidence, determination and faith.

Turning to parents, Fr Masaba urged them to take a more active role in guiding their children, particularly regarding the use of mobile phones and social media platforms, warning that uncontrolled digital engagement can become a distraction during a critical stage of their academic and personal development.

He also encouraged parents to create time for meaningful conversations with their children, noting that strong family relationships, parental guidance and open communication are essential in building stable homes and securing a brighter future for young people.

The Headteacher of Seeta High School Green Campus, Mr Paul Alibundi, expressed confidence in the candidates’ readiness, describing them as the first cohort to sit their final examinations under the school’s new academic curriculum.

He attributed the candidates’ preparedness to the strong partnership between the school administration and parents, noting that the collective efforts of both parties had provided the learners with the necessary academic and personal support.

Alibundi said the school had fulfilled its responsibility in preparing the candidates and expressed optimism that they would perform well in their examinations.

The Deputy Headteacher, Mr J. Kirunda, also assured parents and stakeholders that the school had put in place the necessary preparations to enable the candidates to approach their examinations with confidence and demonstrate their full academic potential.

He appreciated parents for their continued commitment and investment in their children’s education, while recognising the contribution of the school administration, teachers and other members of the school community towards preparing the candidates.

The dedication ceremony provided an opportunity for the candidates to seek God’s guidance as they enter an important stage of their academic journey.

With 395 learners preparing to sit their Senior Six examinations, Seeta High School Green Campus remains optimistic about their performance, while encouraging them to combine academic preparation, discipline, confidence and faith as they pursue their future ambitions.
