As the countdown to the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations begins, Senior Six students at Seeta High School Main Campus have been challenged to discover their purpose in life, develop their talents and acquire essential skills beyond classroom learning as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

The message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Aloysious Alex Ddumba of Nabingo Parish, who led a special Holy Mass at Seeta High School Main Campus to dedicate the school’s Senior Six candidates into God’s hands ahead of their final examinations.

In his homily, Fr. Ddumba reminded the students that academic qualifications alone are not enough to guarantee success in life, encouraging them to understand their individual abilities, identify their ambitions and deliberately pursue opportunities that will help them achieve their dreams.

He challenged the candidates to look beyond what they have learned in school and invest in activities, experiences and personal development initiatives that can broaden their knowledge, strengthen their abilities and prepare them for the realities of the world.

Fr. Ddumba further guided the students on the importance of managing their priorities, explaining that life presents different responsibilities, some of which are important but not necessarily urgent, while others may appear urgent without being equally important.

He urged them to develop the wisdom to distinguish between the two, understand what needs their immediate attention and make informed decisions about what to do, how to do it and when to do it.

According to the priest, developing this understanding at an early stage will help students make responsible choices, remain focused on their goals and avoid being distracted by things that could interfere with their future ambitions.

He also encouraged the candidates to seek forgiveness from their teachers and parents, emphasising the importance of humility, reconciliation, respect and maintaining good relationships with the people who have played a significant role in their education and upbringing.

His message went beyond examination success, reminding the students that their education should prepare them not only for academic achievement but also for responsible living, personal growth and meaningful contributions to society.

Speaking during the function, Seeta High School Main Campus Headteacher, Ms Lilian Namulondo, said the school had fulfilled its responsibility of preparing the candidates academically and was now looking forward to seeing them excel in their final examinations.

She revealed that the school has 283 Senior Six candidates preparing to sit their final examinations, expressing confidence in the preparations undertaken by the institution throughout their academic journey.

Namulondo also expressed appreciation to the school’s founders for their continued vision and commitment to providing quality education, while thanking parents for entrusting the institution with their children’s education.

She encouraged parents to continue supporting the Seeta education family and urged them to consider Seeta University as they plan the next academic steps for their children.

The dedication Mass provided an opportunity for parents, teachers, school administrators and students to reflect on the candidates’ educational journey, seek God’s guidance and encourage them as they approach this important milestone.

Parents present also shared messages of encouragement with the candidates, urging them to remain disciplined, confident and focused as they prepare for their examinations.

The students, in turn, expressed confidence in their preparations and readiness to face the examinations, acknowledging the support and guidance they have received from their teachers, parents and the school administration.

As the candidates prepare to leave the school environment and transition into higher education and other opportunities, the message from Fr. Ddumba serves as an important reminder that true success extends beyond examination results.
