LUWEERO SUB-REGION – The Parish Development Model (PDM) continues to transform livelihoods and improve household incomes across communities in Luweero Sub-Region.

During a PDM monitoring exercise led by ONC Luweero Sub-Region Coordinator, Wasswa Abdulkarim Tamale, beneficiaries shared inspiring stories of how government support is helping them achieve economic growth and financial stability.

Among the beneficiaries is Mr. Kavuma Twahah, a resident of Muyenga Zone, Kyampisi Parish, Bamunanika Sub-county, who proudly attributes his progress to the Parish Development Model.

In 2024, Kavuma received UGX 1 million through the PDM program and invested the funds in the purchase of a dairy cow. Through proper management and commitment to the enterprise, his livestock project has steadily grown, and he now owns four cows.

The expansion of his dairy enterprise has significantly boosted his household income. Revenue generated from milk sales has enabled him to pay household bills and meet other family needs, improving the welfare of his household.

Speaking during the monitoring visit, Kavuma expressed gratitude to the Government of Uganda for the PDM initiative, noting that the program has provided ordinary citizens with an opportunity to engage in productive enterprises and improve their livelihoods.

“PDM has greatly boosted my income and improved my family’s welfare. From the one cow I purchased using the UGX 1 million I received, I now have four cows and earn money from milk sales that helps me pay bills and support my family,” he said.

The success story highlights the positive impact of the Parish Development Model in promoting wealth creation, increasing household incomes, and supporting socio-economic transformation at the grassroots level.

ONC Luweero Sub-Region Coordinator Wasswa Abdulkarim Tamale commended beneficiaries who are utilizing PDM funds productively and encouraged continued investment in income-generating activities to achieve sustainable development.
