The Minister of State for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. JC Muyingo, has urged Ugandans to maintain peaceful relations as the country approaches the 2026 general elections. Dr. Muyingo made this call while attending the 2025 Feast Day celebrations at St. Mary's College Kisubi (SMACK), where he served as the Guest of Honor.

 


Call for Unity
Dr. Muyingo emphasized the importance of unity among Ugandans, stating that politics is temporary, but their shared identity as countrymen will endure.

 

Praise for SMACK
 ⁠The Minister commended SMACK for its exceptional academic, religious, and disciplinary standards, which have made the school a model for others to follow.

 

 

Government Support.
Dr. Muyingo pledged the government's support for SMACK and other old schools, aiming to strengthen them, especially in the new curriculum, so they can serve as benchmarks for other institutions.

 

 

Vote Wisely.
-⁠He encouraged the attendees to appreciate the achievements of the NRM government and consider them when voting in the next elections, recommending President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

As the main celebrant and preacher, Archbishop Kasujja called on the Saints to spread the Gospel and do good to others, highlighting SMACK's excellence in various areas.

 

Headteacher's Call for Gratitude
Brother Mpanga Simeon Simon, the Headteacher of SMACK, urged attendees to recognize and appreciate individuals who have made a positive impact in their lives while they are still alive.

 

New Developments at SMACK

Commissioning of New BuildingsThe Headteacher revealed the upcoming commissioning of two new buildings: a dining complex named after Emeritus Cardinal Emanuel Wamala and another in honor of Late Paul Kawanga Semogerere.

 

- Emphasis on Humility.Brother Mpanga also stressed the importance of humility, encouraging everyone to allow God's will to reign and do good to others
