The FDC Party's National Executive Committee (NEC) held a special session yesterday, where it passed a motion honoring the late Hon. Prof. Frank Wilberforce Bulima Nabwiso. The motion, which included amendments, was a tribute to Nabwiso's remarkable life and legacy.  The motion was moved by Hon. Centenary Franko Robert Bwambale, the Party's National Vice Chairman, and seconded by Hon. Toterebuka Boniface Bamwenda, the Party's Chairman of the Electoral Commission, and Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Party's Secretary General. The motion was unanimously adopted by the NEC, chaired by Party President Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat.  In his address, Amuriat expressed his disappointment that the FDC's 20th anniversary coincided with the day the late Hon. Nabwiso's body lay in state at the Party Headquarters. He also described Nabwiso as a meticulous researcher who carefully studied topics before speaking or making decisions.   The FDC Party paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Hon. Prof. Frank Nabwiso by bringing his body to the Party Headquarters, allowing leaders and members to pay their last respects to a man who dedicated his life to the Party.  Following the NEC meeting, a church service was led by Rev. Walusimbi Elisha of St. Luke Parish C.O.U in Seeta Archdeaconry, Mukono Diocese, where the deceased worshiped.This poignant gesture was a testament to Nabwiso's enduring legacy and the profound impact he had on the Party.  In a space of just one month the Faith of Unity has cemented it's  grassroots in the Busoga region as over 1000 people have come out to openly join the Faith of Unity despite threats from unknown forces . During a three days visit from 14th to 16 December  2024 at Busazi A village , Bugiri town council  in bugiri district Kampala Bukwenda ( archdiocese) area known for Opposition in. Uganda the head of the Faith Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka emphasized the word of oneness to end disunity  in religions , tribe and also  working towards  development. Owobusobozi Bisaka lined the reason why the  Faith and it's believers  love and support president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni , Owobusobozi  highlighted the achievement of Peace  , security and freedom by the government as facts that have led to the development of the Faith of Unity ," if it wasn't president Museveni who investigated on the progranda stories which  those who  fought the Faith and Owobusobozi Bisaka used in the 18s and 19s to stop  the work of the Faith to go on  we thank President and we  will always support him and to us believers of the Faith of Unity we all belong to NRM  With those and many words in the teaching of Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka who first visited Busoga ( Bugiri district)  in  October 2024 on a  just stop over when Owobusobozi was  coming from this years independence  celebrations  over 700 people from the  district entered the Faith   and many were healed from spiritual and bodily diseases at no cost these  requested Owobusobozi Bisaka to again come back in Bugiri to  bless them with a visit which He did and also many people over 400plus joined the Faith making a total number of 1389 people who have not only joined the Faith of Unity but also the ruling party because one of the Faith' objective  is to support the government ( Nrm ) and you can't be a believer when you don't subscribe to NRM .  Owobusobozi Bisaka gave them the Faith's calendar which only gives 3 resting days in the month and those 3 days the believers us them to praise and worship they God  After the Bugiri visit Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka is set to head to Mubende to teach and mobilize for president Museveni the Work Owobusobozi is doing none stop throughout the Years     1752 👁️ 👁️ views…

Hamz Stadium, which opened its doors just six months ago on June 1st, has been approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host the CHAN 2024 qualifiers between Uganda and Burundi.   While addressing journalists today Rogers Mulindwa, Chairperson of Hamz Nakivuvo Stadium, expressed his Joy in this great achievement“Hamz Stadium has exceeded all expectations since its opening, and we are honored to be selected to host the CHAN qualifiers,” he stated.With a capacity of 7,000 general admission seats and 600 VIP spots, Mulindwa says the venue is now equipped to showcase the best football talent.  “These upgrades have been crucial in establishing Nakivuvo as a top-tier venue for international matches,” Mulindwa emphasized.The upcoming football calendar at Hamz Stadium is packed with exciting fixtures.Our first fixture will be Burundi against Uganda on the Boxing Day on 26th of December this year, and that match will be played at 18 hours, which is 6pm our second fixture will be on 29th of December and that's Uganda against Burundi.  We are therefore very grateful to CAF, and FUFA for the decision. Keeping Government in check LOP Ssenyonyi visits Ntungamo District to see inspire Africa coffee Factory  In line with our mandate of keeping the Govt in check, we today went to Ntungamo district for an oversight visit at Inspire Africa coffee factory, which is being constructed with support from Government.  As we have said before, it is generally not a bad thing for Gov't to extend support to private enterprises, but there must be a criteria/guidelines on how individuals can be supported, so that any business person who needs Gov't support can apply. Also, it is imperative for Gov't to sign a proper Memorandum of Understanding with such private entities, and the entity ought to ensure that the tax payer money extended to them is put to good use.  Gov't has been silent on the amount extended to this project so far, but the factory proprietor told us that Gov't has so far committed $20m (75bn shs). We hope that the Minister of Finance, and that of Science and Technology who is in charge of this project will confirm this matter soon.  I told the proprietor that the negative sentiments from some sections of the public about this project have been because Gov't has funded numerous projects, and there has been no value for money. He has an opportunity to prove that the tax payer can get value for their money from such a project.  We also await answers from Government about the other concerns, including the commitment by Gov't in National Development Plan (NDP) III to build two soluble coffee processing factories in Eastern & Central Uganda by the end of July 2025

Youth Line Forum Uganda Asks Govt to Setup Service Centers for GBV Victims. Youth that subscribe to the Youth Line Forum Uganda, a youth led organization have requested the government, upon closure of their 16 days of activism, tackling gender based violence to respond amicably to GBV cases thereby setting up a center that addresses specifically the concern.   The 16 days of activism started on 25th November and they made outreaches to homes and different groups in the society, including victims, perpetrators, community leaders and law enforcers. These talks allowed people to share personal stories and ideas on how to end Gender Based Violence.  During a press conference, Tuesday at their headquarters, kampala, Leah Mugasa, the programs coordinator Youth Line Forum, representing the Executive Director of the Forum, Ruth Asiimwe, said in their work, they advocate for both women and men but they have also included diversity equity, inclusion and justice for all, engaging boys and girls at the University, people in the community, informal and formal sector to ensure that in the fight against GBV all are involved.  During the 16days of activism against GBV, atleast over a thousand active participants online and offline, including women, men and young people have been sensitized and committed to being change agents in their communities, youth have also been empowered to take on leadership roles in fighting GBV out of tje communities, Owen Rubunda, Youth activist with Youth Line Forum Uganda said.As the forum, since most youth engage so much on social media spaces, “we have been active in making posters, sharing to youth for circulating on their spaces as they advocate the fight against GBV.”The major challenges are the deeply cultural stereotypes, people fear to report GBV cases to police in fesr of shame, children do not speak infear of loosing support from parents, among others, he added.  Natasha Ahereza member with Youth Line Forum, mentioned that they are strongly imploring government to also take strong position as there are many GBV cases, but instead limited resources to support in funding these cases to meet justice.  She Indicated that according to the 2023 Police Crime Report, 14,681 cases of domestic violence were reported to police. Out of these reported cases, 1,520 cases reached court resulting in only 423 convictions.  Despite the government of Uganda launching the National Gender-Based Violence Action Plan in 2016 that is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 calling for elimination of all forms of Gender Based Violence, this vice of GBV continues to prevail in Uganda. *About Youth Line Forum*      YLF is a non-government not for profit organization which works with young people to inspire and empower them to transform communities.
