Kampala, Uganda – June 2026 – The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has reminded all taxpayers across the country to file their income tax returns and pay all taxes due by 30th June 2026, in accordance with the Income Tax Act.

The notice applies to both individual and non-individual taxpayers and covers final and provisional income tax returns for various accounting periods. URA has urged taxpayers to comply within the stipulated timelines to avoid the accumulation of interest and other penalties associated with non-compliance.

According to the Authority, taxpayers are required to file final income tax returns for the period ending 31st December 2025, while provisional returns for the 2026/2027 accounting periods must also be submitted by the June 30 deadline.

URA further noted that individuals and non-individual entities are expected to pay the applicable provisional and final income tax installments due under their respective accounting periods.

The Authority emphasized that the filing and payment obligations also extend to rental income taxpayers, both individuals and non-individuals. Rental tax remains separate from personal and corporate income tax and must be assessed and paid independently.

In addition, taxpayers with outstanding tax liabilities dating back to 30th June 2024 have been encouraged to clear their principal tax obligations by 30th June 2026 in order to benefit from the ongoing waiver of interest and penalties.

URA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting taxpayers through various service channels and encouraged those seeking assistance to contact the Authority through its online platforms, toll-free lines, and customer service centers.

The tax body emphasized that timely compliance is critical in mobilizing domestic revenue to support national development and public service delivery.

“Developing Uganda Together” remains the Authority’s guiding commitment as it continues to work with taxpayers to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
