Over 900 Graduate from Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery as Dr. JC Muyingo Urges Integrity and Service in the Health Sector

 JINJA- More than 900 students have graduated in Nursing, Midwifery, Paediatrics, and other health disciplines at the 10th Graduation Ceremony of Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery. The Minister of State for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, who represented the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, presided over the event and commended the NRM Government for its strong commitment to improving the quality of education in Uganda. He officially commissioned a new four-storey storage building, constructed with funding from the Government of Uganda, describing it as evidence of the countrywide transformation being driven by the NRM leadership. In his address, Dr. Muyingo urged the graduates to serve diligently in rural areas, where their expertise is most needed, and to uphold integrity, humility, and professionalism in their service. He also appealed to parents to continue offering guidance and support to their children beyond graduation. The Principal of Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery, Ms. Mebra Mulabiza, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to avoid corruption and serve with honesty and compassion, reminding them that the nursing profession is a calling that demands discipline and commitment. The Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Jinja, Mr. Richard Gulume Balyainho, commended the NRM Government and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for their unwavering dedication to transforming the education and health sectors. “The magnificent infrastructure we see here today is a reflection of the NRM Government’s vision under President Museveni to empower Ugandans through education,” he said. “Such investments in training health workers are a cornerstone for national development and better service delivery.” Parents also expressed appreciation to the government and the school administration for nurturing their children into professionals ready to serve the nation. “We thank the government for supporting institutions like Jinja School of Nursing, and we’re proud of what our children have achieved,” said one parent. Graduates, filled with excitement and gratitude, pledged to serve their country with excellence. “We are ready to take what we’ve learned and use it to change lives, especially in rural communities,” said one graduate. “This is a moment of pride and purpose for all of us.” The colorful ceremony reaffirmed the NRM Government’s commitment to strengthening Uganda’s human resource capacity through modern infrastructure, quality education, and professional training.

Museveni Slams NUP's Shallowness as Speaker Among unveils Asio

 President Yoweri Museveni has slammed the National Unity Platform (NUP) for their "shallowness" in the recently concluded Bukedea District nomination exercise which saw Speaker Anita Among elected unopposed as Bukedea Woman Representative.During Museveni's campaign tour in Bukedea this afternoon, Among, who is also the NRM 2nd National Vice Chairperson [Female] publicly unveiled Florence Asio, the purported NUP flagbearer for Bukedea Woman seat, whom the opposition party alleged had been kidnapped and blocked during Electoral Commission nomination exercise which ended on 23rd October 2025.  "Your Excellency, this is Asio Florence, my daughter whom NUP brought to contest against me. She has never been in NUP. She has never been a politician," Speaker Anita Among said as Asio was ushered in for a photo moment with Museveni.Indeed, a few days after nominations, Asio, in a video, emphatically refuted the allegations of kidnap, saying her decision not to appear on the day of nomination was as a result of family pressure considering her relationship with Among.  In response, President Museveni thanked the people of Bukedea for electing Among unopposed and slammed NUP for failing to carry out due diligence on their party members."The people of Bukedea, I want to thank you for electing my daughter, Anita Among unopposed and showing how shallow and bogus NUP is because the girl I took a picture with is a relative of Anita Among," Museveni said.He added, "She is the one they were hoping to stand against Anita Among because they didn't even know who their members are." He also thanked David Omagor for stepping down for the NRM flagbearer, Hon. Patrick Isiagi for Kachumbala County."Thank you for not wasting time and resources to compete just for the sake of competing," he said.

 A wave of family misunderstandings mixed with political rivalry has sparked tension around Hon. Charles Tebandeke, the Member of Parliament for Bbaale Constituency in Kayunga District, as claims emerge that he has “abandoned” his own relatives — an allegation insiders describe as false and politically motivated. According to investigations, a few family members have been moving door to door in parts of Kayunga, spreading claims that the MP has not extended support to his family. But new details shared anonymously by a close family source paint a completely different picture, revealing a long record of assistance, generosity, and commitment to family welfare.The insider revealed that Hon. Tebandeke has personally supported the education, healthcare, and livelihoods of nearly all his brothers, sisters, and their children — even long before joining active politics.  Among the key cases of support include:• Sister Nabuddo Grace — Her son Adonia is currently at university with full support from the MP.• Brother Patrick Babalanda — His elder son Emma is fully sponsored at university; daughters Grace, Milly, and Sam have benefited through bursary programs; Rebecca was educated from Senior 3 to university and later connected to a government job at UECDL.• Brother Musana — Two sons, Ian and Joel, have been under full sponsorship since Primary 5 and are now in Senior 3.• Brother Mande — Received UGX 6 million assistance while in Luzira Prison.• Brother Kasule — Had his house renovated at Bukasero with help from the MP.• Sister Mantirida — Receives regular treatment support as she battles illness.• Brother Batuli — Gifted two cows for livestock farming.• Brother Denis — Given a farm to manage (which he later abandoned) and later received a new Bajaj Boxer motorcycle to rebuild his livelihood.• Son Byakatonda — Supported with UGX 2 million while working in Saudi Arabia.• Daughter Ritah Nabwire — Her daughter Anyango Mary had A’level tuition paid and is now studying at Kyambogo University on government sponsorship.  The anonymous family source said that only a few relatives, including Bro. Kato and a handful of others, had not yet received direct support — a fact now being twisted by political actors seeking to discredit the legislator through family propaganda.The source further explained that the MP has always emphasized the difference between public office and personal life, reminding relatives that his parliamentary role serves the wider community, not just the family.“He has always told us that being in Parliament is not a family business but a public office meant to serve the people,” the source said. “He helps where he can, and he has done a lot already. The rest is politics.”Political observers in Kayunga suggest that rivals are exploiting internal family divisions to weaken one of the district’s most grounded and people-centered leaders ahead of the next election. Some reports indicate that the ongoing smear campaign is being fueled by malicious propaganda from opponents who see Tebandeke’s growing influence as a threat.  Despite the noise, community voices across Bbaale continue to credit Hon. Charles Tebandeke for his grassroots leadership, youth empowerment programs, and quiet support to families in need.As political temperatures rise ahead of 2026, this case stands as a reminder of how politics can infiltrate families, turning personal differences into public narratives — often detached from the truth.

🇺🇬🇩🇿 UGANDA–ALGERIA RELATIONS STRENGTHEN AS 209 UGANDAN STUDENTS FLAGGED OFF FOR SCHOLARSHIPS IN ALGERIA

 The Minister of State for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. John Chrysestom Muyingo, has officially flagged off 209 Ugandan students who have been awarded fully funded scholarships by the Government of Algeria to pursue further studies in various disciplines. The colorful flag-off ceremony was held this morning at the ICT Innovation Hub in Nakawa, and was graced by the Ambassador of Algeria to Uganda, H.E. Amokrane Mourad. Speaking during the event, Dr. Muyingo commended the strong and growing partnership between Uganda and Algeria, particularly in the education sector. He noted that such initiatives not only strengthen bilateral relations but also contribute to Uganda’s human capital development. “This is an opportunity for you to represent Uganda with dignity and excellence. Study hard, conduct yourselves well, and when you return, contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation,” said Dr. Muyingo. According to Mr. Muzamir Mukwatampola, Commissioner in the Ministry of Education and Sports, the scholarship recipients will travel in three batches, with the first group of 79 students departing tomorrow morning. The students will pursue courses in Science and Technology, Engineering, Medicine, and other professional fields at various Algerian universities. Ambassador Mourad Amokrane revealed that the Algerian Government has increased the scholarship quota for Ugandan students from 210 to 260, reflecting the deepening educational cooperation between the two countries. “We are committed to enhancing our academic and cultural ties with Uganda. Education is a bridge between our nations and a foundation for mutual progress,” the Ambassador remarked. Parents and students expressed gratitude to both the Government of Uganda and the Government of Algeria for the life-changing opportunity, pledging to uphold the values of discipline and hard work while abroad. This scholarship program stands as a symbol of the cordial diplomatic relations and shared vision between Uganda and Algeria—anchored in education, innovation, and youth empowerment.

FORMER LOP MATHIAS MPUUGA PINNED IN FRESH SHS 400M SERVICE AWARD SAGA

 Kampala, Uganda — Former Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LOP) and leader of the newly formed Democratic Front (DF), Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, has once again found himself in the spotlight after being implicated in a fresh Shs 400 million “service award” controversy.The allegations were raised by the current Leader of Opposition, Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, during a press briefing at Parliament of Uganda, where he accused four Parliamentary Commissioners of secretly awarding themselves hefty payments disguised as “service awards.” According to Ssenyonyi, the four Commissioners — Hon. Solomon Silwanyi, Hon. Esther Afoyochan, Hon. Prossy Akampulira Mbabazi, and Hon. Mathias Mpuuga — each received Shs 400 million through the Parliamentary SACCO, allegedly to avoid a clear financial paper trail. “I have been reliably informed that the four Commissioners each received a second service award of Shs 400 million, which was channeled through the Parliamentary SACCO so as to avoid having a clear paper trail,” Ssenyonyi revealed. “This money, apparently, was intended to see them through the campaign season.” Ssenyonyi further dismissed as false propaganda reports claiming he had also benefited from a similar payout. “Even if they quietly send any such money to my account, I will instruct my bank to immediately return it to the sender because such under-the-table money is illegal and irregular in every sense of the word,” he emphasized. The allegations have sparked renewed debate about accountability and financial transparency in Parliament, with many recalling Mpuuga’s earlier Shs 500 million “service award” saga that drew widespread criticism earlier this year. That previous controversy marked the beginning of a deep political rift between Mpuuga and his former party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), led by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine. Following weeks of internal conflict, Mpuuga eventually resigned from NUP and announced his own political formation — the Democratic Front (DF), which he described as a “platform for truth, discipline, and national dialogue.” As of now, neither Parliament nor Mpuuga’s Democratic Front has issued an official statement regarding the latest Shs 400 million claims. However, political observers say the new scandal could further test Mpuuga’s credibility as he seeks to position DF as a clean and reformist alternative in Uganda’s political landscape.

330 SENIOR SIX CANDIDATES BLESSED IN DEDICATION MASS AT SEETA HIGH SCHOOL GREEN CAMPUS AS LEADERS EXPRESS CONFIDENCE IN EXCELLENCE

 As Senior Six students across the country prepare for their final Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations for 2025, Seeta High School Green Campus Nama in Mukono District held a special Dedication Mass to bless and spiritually strengthen its 330 candidates before they sit for their final papers. The holy Mass, which drew hundreds of students, parents, teachers, and religious leaders, was led by Rev. Fr. Vincent Tumusiime from the Diocese of Mbarara, assisted by the school’s Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Alex Mugalu. Also in attendance were the Head Teacher of Seeta High School Green Campus, Mr. Paul Alibundi, teachers, parents, students from other classes, and the Head Teacher of Seeta Junior School Mbalala, Rev. Sr. Crispin Namara. During his homily, Fr. Tumusiime urged the candidates to remain resilient, trust in God, and make use of the knowledge and guidance given to them by their dedicated teachers. “You have been taught by some of the best teachers. Approach your exams with courage, faith, and confidence,” he advised. The Mass featured heartfelt moments of thanksgiving, with students presenting gifts and financial tokens of appreciation to their teachers and the founder directors, Hon. Dr. John Chrysestom Muyingo and Mrs. Rose Muyingo, for their unmatched vision and continuous investment in nurturing academic and moral excellence. Speaking on behalf of the candidates, one student representative expressed deep gratitude to the administration, teachers, and school founders. “We thank Hon. Dr. Muyingo and Mrs. Rose Muyingo for building a school that gives us hope, confidence, and discipline. We promise to make them proud through our performance,” the student said. Another candidate shared that the Dedication Mass had given them renewed spiritual strength. “We now feel ready for the exams. Nyanzi Faisol Remanded Over USD 205,556 Property Fraud Case in Kampala

 The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), in coordination with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), has arrested and arraigned Mr. Nyanzi Faisol before the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit a felony.According to the prosecution, on 15th July 2025, at Standard Chartered Bank, Speke Road Branch, Kampala, Mr. Nyanzi Faisol, together with his co-accused Mr. Kavuma Ibrahim—who is already on remand—and others still at large, conspired with intent to defraud and obtained USD 205,556 (about UGX 790 million) from a victim under the false pretense of selling a house in Bunga.The accused allegedly posed as genuine property sellers and lured the victim into transferring the money to their accounts before disappearing. The fraudulent transaction was later reported, prompting investigations by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in partnership with other law enforcement agencies. Following his arraignment, the Anti-Corruption Court remanded Mr. Nyanzi Faisol until 4th November 2025, pending further investigations and recovery of the stolen funds. The Unit reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption and property-related fraud, emphasizing that efforts are underway to trace and apprehend remaining suspects and recover the defrauded money.

Fr Ziiwa Dedicates 296 Seeta High A Campus Senior Six Candidates, Urges Them to Trust God and Use Holiday Wisely

 A deeply spiritual atmosphere filled Seeta High A Campus in Mukono as 296 Senior Six candidates were dedicated to God during a solemn Dedication Mass led by Fr. Herman Mukasa Ziiwa, who urged them to trust in God and use their upcoming holiday wisely after final exams. The Mass, characterized by inspiring hymns from the school choir, brought together parents, teachers, and students to pray for the candidates sitting for the UACE examinations. Fr. Ziiwa, assisted by Fr. Ntege, the Chaplain of Seeta Schools, led the prayers of dedication and blessing. During the service, parents lovingly placed their hands on their children as Fr. Ziiwa sprinkled them with holy water, symbolizing divine protection and success. “Go with faith and confidence,” Fr. Ziiwa told the students. “Let God be your guide in the examination rooms and in life beyond. Discipline, prayer, and hard work will open every door for you.” After the Mass, students, parents, and teachers exchanged gifts led by Head Teacher Mr. Songha Ramanthan, who applauded the Parents’ Committee for their dedication and teamwork throughout the academic year. Despite light rain, the students celebrated joyfully, singing and dancing as they marked this milestone together with their teachers and families. In his message, Fr. Museveni Hails Peace, Development, and Transformation in Teso and Amuria

 AMURIA — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has lauded the people of Amuria and the wider Teso sub-region for their resilience and contribution to restoring peace and fostering development in the area. Addressing a massive crowd during the second rally in Amuria—following an earlier one in Katakwi—President Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, reminded the people of the region’s crucial role in defeating insurgents and bringing lasting stability to Uganda. He recalled historic victories in Apopong, where the UPDF defeated Joseph Kony’s army, and in Anyara, Kalaki, where the rebels under Tabuley were crushed — turning points that restored peace in Teso. “I salute the Arrow Boys and all who stood with us to defend their homeland,” Museveni said. “Because of that peace, development has flourished.” President Museveni highlighted major infrastructure achievements that have transformed Teso, including the tarmac roads from Soroti through Katine, Katakwi, and Usuku, which now link the sub-region to Karamoja. He also cited power lines and clean water systems in Wera and Amuria Town that are benefiting thousands. In addition, the Head of State emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding education and health services, ensuring every parish and sub-county is equipped with essential facilities. “The NRM story remains one of peace, infrastructure, and transformation,” the President affirmed, expressing gratitude with the words, “Eyalama noi noi,” meaning “Thank you very much.” The event was characterized by huge crowds, songs of praise, and vibrant displays of the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) yellow colors — symbolizing the continued trust of Ugandans in a leadership that has brought peace and progress to all corners of the country. Under President Museveni’s leadership, Uganda continues to witness steady transformation through infrastructure development, education, industrialization, and social stability — a legacy the NRM government pledges to strengthen further in the coming years.

FR. KALANZI URGES SEETA JUNIOR SCHOOL NABUTI PUPILS TO BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES AS THEY FACE FINAL EXAMS

 Pupils of Seeta Junior School Nabuti Campus have been encouraged to believe in themselves and trust God as they prepare to sit for their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) starting Monday. The message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Raymond Kalanzi of St. Teresa Ministries, who led a Dedication Holy Mass for the P.7 candidates. He was assisted by Rev. Fr. Mark Duggan Mulyanti from Iganga Parish under the Jinja Diocese. The special mass brought together parents, teachers, and school leaders, all united in prayer, dedicating the candidates for success in both their exams and their next level of education. In his sermon, Fr. Kalanzi urged the pupils to remain confident, disciplined, and faithful as they approach their final exams: “You have read your books, your teachers have guided you, and your parents have sacrificed for you — now believe in yourself and trust God,” he said. He also encouraged them to uphold good behavior, saying that true victory in life comes from humility, respect, and discipline. In a moment that inspired excitement and hope among pupils and parents, Fr. Kalanzi prophesied that Seeta Junior School will emerge among the best schools in Uganda when results are released. “I declare that Seeta Junior School will shine across the country. You will be the best — because you have prayed and worked hard,” he affirmed. Fr. Mark Duggan Mulyanti also reminded pupils to pray, stay calm, and remain focused, saying that success is guaranteed when effort meets faith. The Human Resource Officer of Seeta Schools, Ms. Nagawa Joan, praised the unity among Seeta Schools’ staff and thanked parents for their continued cooperation: “Working together as one family is what keeps Seeta Schools strong. President Museveni Urges Healthier Lifestyles as 633 Graduate from Mulago School of Nursing and Midwifery

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called upon Ugandans to adopt healthier lifestyles and embrace preventive healthcare as a key strategy to combat the rising threat of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cancer — illnesses that are increasingly prevalent, especially in urban areas. The President made this call in a message delivered by the Minister for Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs, Hon. Minsa Kabanda, during the 13th Graduation Ceremony of Mulago School of Nursing and Midwifery, where 633 graduates were awarded diplomas and certificates in various health disciplines. President Museveni emphasized that Uganda’s growing disease burden could be significantly reduced if citizens adopted lifestyle adjustments such as eating balanced diets, exercising regularly, and seeking regular medical checkups. He noted that preventive healthcare remains one of the most cost-effective ways of ensuring a healthier and more productive population. The event, held at the institution’s campus in Kampala, also marked major milestones for the school. The Principal, Mrs. Josephine Nambiro Kigozi, revealed that the institution had launched a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in affiliation with Busitema University.
